Real discounts, serious guarantees

Discounts

I offer two types of discounts:

  • Primary discounts are discounts that I offer in the original quote.
  • Secondary discounts are discounts that I apply after I have completed the service. I apply these discounts as part of my punctuality guarantee (see below) or due to early cancellation.

My primary discounts include:

  • Volume discount. Discount that I apply based on the number of words in the document.
  • Special client discount. Discount for special clients such as wholesalers (agencies), first-time clients and others.
  • List as client discount. Discount that I apply if the client allows me to publish its name in a list of clients.
  • Licensing discount. Discount that I apply to clients that allow me to use extracts of their text for purposes of exhibition, training or marketing. For the licensing discount to be valid, AA Nuncio and the client must execute an agreement that establishes the terms of the license.
  • Discount for TM segments. According to Wikipedia, a translation memory (TM) “consists of text segments in a source language and their translations into one or more target languages.” A list of related TM files is known as a TM index. TM indices allow clients to obtain more consistent translations in less time and can reduce translation costs significantly. Subject to the restrictions described in the formal quote, I will apply a discount of up to 80% for TM segments in the source document that match existing TM segments in the client's TM index.

Guarantees

I offer two guarantees:

  • Quality guarantee. I guarantee that the target document will comply with all of the specifications in the quote.

I create detailed specifications as part of a quality assurance process. This gives me and my clients an objective yardstick for measuring the quality of the service.

  • Punctuality guarantee. I guarantee that I will deliver the target document to my clients on the date and time established in the quote (the “delivery date”).

I offer two types of punctuality guarantee:

  • Progressive discount. I will apply a progressive discount for any target document that I deliver after the delivery date. I will apply this discount based on the delay time, which is defined as the amount of time elapsed after the delivery date divided by the total service time (as defined in the formal quote). This figure is expressed as a percentage. More »
  • Drop-dead discount. If the client opts for the drop-dead option and I fail to deliver the target document by the delivery date, I will cancel the service, so that the delivery of the target document and any payment owed by the client pursuant to the quote will be canceled and extinguished automatically. I recommend this second option for jobs where the target document would be useless to the client if the supplier were to deliver it after the delivery date, as is sometimes the case with legal documents.
